What Does It Take To Become Music Stars?
It used to be relatively easy to produce brand new music stars onto the scene. All you had to do was release an album, sell millions of copies and have your name and picture plastered on the front cover of all the major magazines.
“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us...” (from John Lennon's "Imagine"). John Lennon had a brilliant mind and he would have known, while writing those lyrics, the real meaning of the words. There are literally thousands of people who want to be famous music stars but only a few achieve their goal. Some want to be rock stars, or country music stars, but what they have in common is, not knowing where to start.
The quickest way to succeed in the music business is to do a video of yourself and show it on websites such as YouTube, and make sure you put a link beside the clip to your website. Many people have become celebrities just through this one simple procedure. You could become one of the next US music stars to make it big, because of a 3 minute video! Most people are not looking for you online because they don’t know you, so you need to create a website and build content that will interest your new fans.
There are ways to promote yourself as a music star by setting up links on sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Squidoo and Twitter. Social networking is the fastest way to get your music known. The fastest way to have your video distributed to all the major video hosting websites all at once, is to use a program called TubeMogul. Becoming a sexy rock star, if that is your dream, will only happen through self promotion. You need to be seen by agents or talent scouts to help you launch yourself into the world of the music stars.
Being a well known music star takes a lot of hard work. There are endless rehearsals for hours on end, and if you’re part of a rock group or band, not everyone gets along with each other all the time. If you’re trying to get your name or band known, it can involve a lot of traveling from one gig to another, which means a lot of time away from home. You have to be persistent and dedicated to excel at what you do.
Success at being music stars depends on whether or not you’re at the right place at the right time. Some people gain success through shows such as American Idol and go on to have a successful career and become so well known that you see their music stars posters everywhere. Others aren’t lucky enough to make it “big”, but are still doing what they love in bars and clubs across the country. It can be a nomadic lifestyle for some as they chase their dream, but if you absolutely love what you do it becomes your whole life.
What would we do without these music stars giving us so much pleasure through their music? The world would be a terrible place without music. When things look bad, putting on music can really calm the nerves.
