Why Are We So Fascinated By Celebrity Stars?
Why Celebrity Stars Stay Famous
Female celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, who used to be famous as a singer in the Spice Girls group, are still just as famous today. Why is that? What about Paris Hilton? Nobody can figure out what she does yet she’s famous in her own right!
One of the reasons for their celebrity star quality is the access we have today through the media. Not just newspapers, magazines, radio and TV, but the internet as well. Because of the internet, we are informed immediately of anything the celebrity stars get up to. They are finding it more and more difficult to dodge the public eye.
It is human nature to want to find out as much as we can about famous celebrity stars and if they’re already a popular target then we are always clamoring for more gossip. We’ve heard a lot about female celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, who was constantly in the news for something. I’m sure that when she was at her lowest point, she did not appreciate the media following every move she made. Even now when you hear her name mentioned, you’re keen to find out what she’s done now!
Famous Hollywood male celebrities are not immune either. Mel Gibson is a good example as someone who became famous for his movies and for being happily married with seven children. Over the last few years he’s become a more famous celebrity star for being caught drunk, anti-Semitism rants, and for leaving his wife of almost 28 years for a much younger woman who was pregnant with his child. Of course we all want to know what happens next in their lives.
If you want to find out how popular and famous some celebrity stars are, then do a search on the internet to see the most searched celebrity stars and how many listings there are under their name. As an example, Paris Hilton has a whopping 68,500,000 listings! Do we really need to ask why she’s so famous?
Some celebrity stars don’t have to do anything to be famous, they just are! Look at Brad Pitt and George Clooney. They don’t even need to be starring in a movie, because they are famous anyway. We are eager to find out how they live their lives, which restaurants they eat at, or where they spend their vacations. As long as we get the information we need on a regular basis, those celebrities will still be famous.
Hollywood, of course, has spawned the majority of celebrity stars, but celebrities can come from all walks of life. They don’t have to be movie stars. They can be radio or TV stars, sports stars, or politicians and entrepreneurs. It’s what these people do for the community as a whole that makes them a celebrity.
Even celebrity stars that died many years ago are still famous today. Elvis Presley will always stay in the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world, yet he died in 1977 at the age of 42. He still has 18,000,000 listings on Google today.
This proves that you don’t even have to be alive to be famous because you just are!
